Leaving Certificate 2021 results

Leaving Certificate results for 2021 are due for issue directly to candidates through the Candidate Self Service Portal at 10am on Friday 3 September.

In any subject where a candidate sat the examination and opted to receive Accredited Grades, they will be credited with the better of the two results.

Candidates’ results will be transferred to the CAO to facilitate progression to higher education. The CAO will issue Round 1 offers on 7 September.

From 5pm on 7 September, candidates will have access to more detailed information about both sets of results.

For candidates who took only the certificate examinations in any subjects they will be able to see the marks awarded in the written examination for those subjects, and the marks awarded in any components.

For candidates who opted only for Accredited Grades in any subjects, the estimated percentage marks submitted by their school, the accredited mark following the process of standardisation and the SEC Accredited Grades will be available for those subjects.

Candidates who opted for both examinations and Accredited Grades in any subjects will receive information in respect of both sets of results for those subjects.

Candidates will also have the opportunity to view their examination scripts. Candidates will be able to apply to view scripts from 5 pm on 7 September until 8 pm on 8 September.

Access to this information and viewing scripts will aid candidates who may be considering an appeal of a result in a subject.

Candidates will be able to submit an application to appeal both examinations results and Accredited Grades from 9 am on 11 September until 12 pm on 13 September. There are no fees this year for appealing Leaving Certificate provisional results. Candidates may apply to appeal either examination results, Accredited Grades, or both.

A further, more detailed guide, Candidate Information Guide on Results and Appeals, will issue in advance of Results Day.

The timeframe for issuing of appeal results will be communicated following the closing date for the appeals process.
