A GAA Coaching Course has been organised for Transition Year Students on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 29th of November from 9:00-13:00 both days. For these days students will be learning the fundamentals of GAA coaching. They will look at session planning and how to successfully manage and run a training session. They will critically analyse, and self & peer evaluate their training session to improve and develop going forward. The course will run in both a classroom setting and on the pitch both in the school facilities. Throughout the day students will develop skills in group management, teamwork and self-evaluation. These are all skills not just relevant to sport but also very much required in the current world of work.
The course will start at 9:00 sharp and finish at 1:00 PM.
They will need to wear active wear/ track suit for the duration of the course but will have to change back into uniform for the last two classes of the day.
Since this is a School activity, the students will be required to follow the teachers’ instructions and Event organisers at all times and abide by the School’s Code of Behaviour.
You will be requested to inform us of any medical conditions in the online permission form below. If this is the case, please ensure that they have their necessary medication with them for the trip.
Please Note: No Students will be allowed to leave mid course as this will result in no certificate being received
