TY Students Bake for Red Cross Senior Citizen Party

4th year Home Economics students put their skills to very good use this week, baking some delicious treats and giving back to our community.

They received a request to provide some homemade goods for the Senior Citizens Afternoon Tea Party from the Irish Red Cross.

SCS have worked with the local branch of the Red Cross before and were happy to help on this occasion as well.

We hope the event will be a huge success.

Well done our 4th year students for their contribution.

The Green-Schools and the Drama Club had a great time at a joint Christmas party this year, with pizza, fizzy drinks and chocolate galore.

Ms Belton presented the Christmas hamper prize to the winning entry from Alicija Sparazynska (4th Year) for her winning logo depicting a bee on a school crest and her accompanying slogan:

We work for the bees. The  school is working on the Biodiversity theme for their 4th Green-school flag and bees are part of the biodiversity on which we all depend for our survival.

UpCycle Unloved/Unworn Student Clothing Initiative!

Our students are trying to do their bit to tackle the problem of textile waste and fast fashion. They are hoping to gather as much good quality, pre-used fashion and sportwear clothing from our students, sort it and sell it in their pop up shop within the school.

This will allow students to clear their wardrobes of unwanted clothes which other students may buy. Proceeds will go towards charities that work with sustainability.
