Class 2D Present Life Jackets to Students in the LRC

In this heartwarming picture, we see the students of class 2D proudly presenting brand new lifejackets to their fellow students in the LRC (Learning Resource Centre).

The journey towards this special moment began when class 2D organised a Fairtrade Bakesale before Easter as part of their efforts to earn a fairtrade badge for our school. Through their hard work and dedication, they managed to raise an impressive sum of €137. However, instead of keeping the money for themselves, the compassionate students decided to donate it to a worthy cause. After much deliberation, they chose the LRC as the recipient of their donation, recognizing the need for essential equipment for various outdoor activities.

With the funds raised, the students of class 2D were able to purchase lifejackets for the LRC students. The presentation of these lifejackets was truly a moment of joy and celebration, highlighting the kindness and generosity that exists within our school community.

Thank you to Chamarine Safety services for the life jackets and thank you to Ms. Grace Callaghan and Ms. Carla Nugent for organising this event for the students.
