Local business owner, Siobhan O'Callaghan visits 4th Year Food & Hospitality Class.
The Hospitality Industry has been hit like no other during the current global pandemic, a fact that our 4th year Food & Hospitality students are getting to grips with as they get ready to market and sell their artisan food markets in what can only be described as challenging circumstances.
But help was at hand in the form of local businesswoman who came to the rescue with invaluable tips on how to negotiate these choppy waters for the food industry.
Siobhan O Callaghan, owner of Kalbo's Cafe & Gourmet Store on North St. in Skibbereen had a wealth of knowledge to give to the students on how best to tweak their products for the current market. She shared her own personal journey as well as offering feedback to each student.
It was a most enjoyable morning and the students came away with a great deal of knowledge which will help them in the weeks ahead. So even though we won't have our usual Christmas market, the good news is that our students will be offering a click and collect service via their company instagram pages.
More details to follow shortly so watch this space! Huge thanks to Siobhan for giving up her valuable time and we wish her continued success in Kalbos on North St.
